At every event and fundraiser we need moms and dads to step up and help carry the load.
There are eight Board members this year, and each one is as busy as the next parent at Standiford. Help us maintain our sanity by coming alongside us and helping with your creativity, your commitment and your hard work
Examples of some volunteer job descriptions:
- Become a Room Parent
- Selling concessions/food at events like Movie Nights, the Carnival, the Talent Show and Hang out with Dad/Mom. (Time commitment: half an hour before the event until the event is over, 1-4 hours total)
- Make copies and put in teacher's boxes for Tuesday folders (Time commitment: Friday mornings, 30 minutes)
- Volunteer to work for one or two shifts for one of our Scholastic Book Fairs. (Time commitment:1-2 hour shifts)
- Help set-up/decorate before events (Time commitment: 1-2 hours)
- Help clean-up after events (Time commitment: 1 hour)
- Help cook before/during PTSA events like: Family night during the Book Faires, the Carnival, and the Talent show. (Time commitment: 1-3 hours)
- Help paint and hang signs advertising for an event (Time commitment: 1-2 hours)
- Coordinate/Chair an aspect of a larger event. (For example: being the Chairperson for the Dinner portion of the Talent show, or the Chairperson of the Booth part of the Carnival) (Time commitment: pre-event meetings, prep work in the weeks before the event, attendance at all aspects of the event; approximately 10-12 hours)
- Help with Teacher appreciation week: make "appreciation favors", serve at the breakfast or Luncheon and/or help clean up after the different activities that week. (Time commitment: 1-5 hours)
